Fortune Defensive Woes Continue
Fortune football club defenders weak display continued as two solid goals from Real de Banjul inflict more pain on Jane joof’s side as the whites collect their first win in the league following a one-all draw against GAF in the opening game.
A low drive shot from Alagie Kujabi in the tail end of the first half and a quick second half goal from kajally Drammeh was all the whites needed to temporarily to go top of the league standing.
“We have a problem in the defense”, Fortune head coach Jane joof voiced after a disappointing defeat.
“When we conceded those two goals against Elite united, I told them that I have never seen those types of goals against my team and today too, we conceded two give away goals. This is so disappointing and we have to work on it as soon as possible”, he told the press.
First choice goalie for the petroleum boys, Yankuba Sabally was not in the matchday squad thus forcing Jane Joof to give the nod to young Alieu Jassey, who couldn’t contain the attacking prowess of Ebou Jarra’s super cup winning side..
“We have a good pre-season” Said Ebou Jarra.” The boys work hard for this game and they deservedly win this game” he told plus.gm.
A two-nil lost against Real de Banjul means the petroleum boys are on minus two and conceded four goals in the space of four days. It could be recalled that an energetic Elite united side scored two beautiful goals against Fortune in a game that mark questions on their defensive capabilities.
Lamin Chatty, Modou Lamin Darboe, Ousainou Jallow and Bully Drammeh all came close to scoring for Fortune in the either side of the game but their efforts were denied by Real net-minder, Ebrima Jarju who was on his best throughout the encounter in the Banjul KG5 mini stadium.
Fortune play Marimoo next in the fixture in Brikama and the whites too will be traveling to Brikama to face the champions, Brikama united.
