Functional Red Hawks Beat Rather Goal-Shy Jam City
Reds Hawks bounce back from their early season slumber to beat a rather ineffective Jam City 2-0 in week three of Gambia Football Federation Division 2.
Red Hawks, were functional rather than been flamboyant, but their 2-0 win over Jam City will boost their morals following their early struggled in the league. Jam City were the better side in term of ball possession as their captain, David Sim once again shown his passing abilities. But one thing was always lacking in match: creativity and goals.
Red Hawks, Alasana Camara skillfully avoided couple of tackles in Jam City box before he was stripped to the ground by Jam City left fullback, Abdoulie Bah for a penalty. Alasana took the resulting spot kick, but Jam City netminder, guessed right to keep the scoreline level in the 25th minute.
Red Hawks, Bailo Bah broke the deadlock in the 34 minute when tap home from close range. And Saihou Colley scored just two minutes from the break and give Red Hawks their first three points of the season.
Momodou Bah, the Red Hawks coach commend his defenders for keeping Jam City at bay while he sang praises of his attackers.
“It was a good game and at least it was better than our last two matches because we took our chances.
“The defence, they minimise their errors and at the attacking end, our boys were lethal.” Momodou Bah speaking to plus GM
Kemba Camara, the team trainer of Jam City preached for calm he stated that it was just their second league match.
“It was not bad because the boys did well. Pass the ball as expected and dominated the entire proceedings.
“This is just our second match, we drew our first match with Samger. We have the believed that our boys will start scoring and things will be normal.” Kemba Camera speaking to waiting reporters.
