GDC’s MC Cham Jr condemns Hon. Fatoumatta Jawara’s Remarks Against UDP Leader
Modou MC. Cham Jr alias MC Cham Jr National Youth President of The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) condemned the remarks made by the National Assembly Member for Talinding Hon. Fatoumatta Jawara during President Barrow’s meet the people tour held recently at Buffer Zone.
“I strongly condemn the insults publicly made by Hon Fatoumata Jawara of Tallinding against the UDP leader Hon Ousainou Darboe and his family, during the president’s meeting at the Buffer Zone.” Cham stresses.
He added that such politics which he described as “nasty politics” should not be encouraged in any way.
He explained that the Inter-Party Committee was formed to avoid such acts in politics and that the Committee agreement was signed by all party leaders to avoid such attacks and violence in politics.
He further stresses that Hon. Jawara should have used the meeting to talk about the problems faced by the residents of her Constituency but not to attack personality.
“Hon. Jawara should know that she is a Parliamentarian and by virtue of her position she is a role model. Therefore she is expected to behave maturely but not otherwise.
He alleged that President Barrow is abusing tax payers money by organizing such meetings to attack personalities instead of meeting the people to know their concerns.
“We need politics of ideas and tolerance but not politics of vengeance and personal attacks.” He argues.
