Lamin Samateh Sends Bonto To The Semis Of Kombo East District
Lamin Samateh’s solitary lone goal against Faraba Banta was all but enough to send Bonto to the semi final of the ongoing Kombo East District Nawettan.
Bonto and Faraba Banta really cancelled each other in much part of the first half. The respective coaches of Bonto Faraba Banta put off formations that were able to neutralised their opponent attacking prowess.
Bonto Village got the breakthrough in the 39th minutes of the match, when Samateh collects a well place pass from Jerreh Dampha, he best his marker before unleashing a shot from an “impossible angle” which hit the bottom of the goal post before deflecting into the net.
Samateh’s beautifully taken goal sealed the deal for Bonto. It was pretty much all over for Faraba Banta despite several efforts from their side.
They came close to equalising in the 72nd minute when their skillful number 10, Saikou Jaiteh, hit the wooden goal post with a long shot from 25 yards.
That was as good as it got for Faraba Banta as Bonto resisted in defence to earn the win and a ticket to the semi finals.
However, the scintillating encounter ended up in violence just after the central referee blew his whistle to signal the end of the epic encounter. The scenes that unfold before the eyes of our reporter were indeed chaotic and worrying. The Faraba Banta fans were all over the referees as they complain that he denied them penalties and didn’t favor them on number of occasions.
